West-Midlands Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative dedicated to supporting the financial wellbeing of local communities across Galway, Roscommon, Westmeath and Mayo. The organisation was established in 2025 following the merger of St. Jarlath's Credit Union and Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union, creating one of Ireland's largest regional credit unions with over 80,000 members. Operating on the principle of "people helping people", West-Midlands Credit Union provides a wide range of financial services including savings accounts, personal and car loans, current accounts, mortgages, debit cards, financial planning and insurance products. As a cooperative, all profits are reinvested to improve services and support community initiatives, ensuring members receive fair, accessible and community-focused financial services.
